Pumpkin pie with a subtle twist

Ingredients
  • 1 9-inch graham cracker pie crust
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 6 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups pumpkin puree
  • 6 tablespoons dark brown sugar, packed
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, syrup and vanilla. Set aside.
  3. In another medium bowl, whisk pumpkin puree, sugar, flour, salt and spices; add to egg mixture and whisk until well blended.
  4. Pour filling into crust.
  5. Bake for 1 hour, or until filling is puffed around edges and center moves only slightly when pan is shaken.
  6. Let cool, then place in fridge to chill overnight.
