Cinnamon Poached Pears

- 6 medium ripe pears shopping list
- 5 cups white unsweetened grape juice shopping list
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice shopping list
- 1 vanilla bean split lengthwise shopping list
- 1 inch whole cinnamon stick shopping list
- 1/4 cup golden raisins shopping list
How to make it
- Peel pears leaving stems on. In a medium size pan heat juices, vanilla bean and cinnamon stick to a simmer then add pears and simmer 30 minutes uncovered turning occasionally. Remove pears with a slotted spoon. Reduce syrup 35 minutes then strain. Stir in raisins and cool syrup to room temperature. Serve pears in small glass compote bowls. Spoon raisins and syrup over and around pears.
