Ingredients

How to make it

  • Thoroughly mix ground coffee and egg with enough water to make a stiff slurry
  • Place mixture in a lidded two-quart saucepan.
  • In another saucepan, bring one quart of water to a rolling boil.
  • Pour boiling water over the coffee mixture, making sure it is well mixed
  • Heat the mixture to just at boiling point.
  • Remove from heat, cover, let stand about 10 minutes; it is ready when the mat of coffee grounds sinks.
  • Pour through a strainer into a serving pot

Got to be good. As prized as eggs and coffee was in that time, this person would have been charged with something for publishing a recipe on how to waste a egg and good coffee. \0
