How to make it

  • Cream margarine eggs and sugar till fluffy.
  • Mix dry ingredients.
  • Add to creamed mixture with milk to make a smooth dough
  • Place in pan and bake in a 200C oven for 15 minutes ( in springform pan )
  • Mix the vanilla pudding mix with just a small amount of apple juice or milk to liquify
  • Add the applesauce into the pudding mixture and cook and stir just to the boiling point.
  • Place mixture over the baked layer
  • Mix the sour cream with 3 Tbs sugar and egg yolks.
  • Beat whites stiff and gently fold into sour cream mixture
  • Gently spread this over applesauce layer and bake 20 to 30 minutes longer
  • Cool completely and chill at least 5 hours or overnight before removing from pan and serving

    I like this too, I think the applesauce pudding mixture topped with the sour cream seems very decadent and delicious!
