Bratwurst Pepper Skillet

- 1lb. Fresh or fully cooked bratwurst shopping list
- 1 C water shopping list
- 1 med. onion, chopped (1/2 cup) shopping list
- 1/4 C Chopped green pepper shopping list
- 2 tsp. Instant beef bouillon granules shopping list
- 1 tsp. dry mustard shopping list
- 1 sm. Head cabbage, cored and cut into wedges shopping list
- 4 med. carrots, cut into shopping list
- 1-inch pieces shopping list
- 1/2 C milk 3 tbsp all-purpose flour shopping list
How to make it
- Cut bratwurst crosswise into halves. Place bratwurst in an unheated, large skillet. Place over low heat and cook bratwurst about 10 minutes or till browned, turning occasionally.
- Stir in water, chopped onion, chopped green pepper, beef bouillon granules, and dry mustard; mix well. Add cabbage wedges and carrot pieces to bratwurst mixture in skillet. cook, covered, about 20 minutes or till vegetables are tender.
- Remove bratwurst, cabbage, and carrots to a platter; keep warm. Stir together milk and flour; add to mixture in skillet. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 1 minute more. Pour over meat and vegetables on platter. Makes 4 servings.
- For a different flavor, substitute knackwurst or Polish sausage for the bratwurst
