How to make it

  • First off. "is the baguette hard" IF not go to step 2
  • Cut in half or in 3rds down the middle long ways and place in paper bag over night
  • Now theres two methods i use, mortar and pestle, or paper bag and rolling pin.
  • Mortar and pestle method, I like to use this method because when adding salt and spices you'll grind the spices up as well to which ever consistency you desire. Simply break off pieces of bread and start crushing adding a dash of salt and pepper as you go. once the consistency you desire place in a air tight container for storage.
  • Rolling pin method. i simply bash and smash and roll to make the bread crumbs. i find this method a bit messier than the other way but works well. when your done add the salt and spices toss in sealed air tight container.
  • If bread in your house starts to go stale put it in a paper bag right away. no mold no waste.. if you see mold on the bread your planning on using then please don't use it for bread crumbs, throw it away!.
  • Remember that Flour these days is expensive. Same holds true for bread. Save money!

Oh yes, this is great . I use the M and P my mom gave me and find this the better of the 2 also. I grow and dry my own herbs and I can have different flavors this way in separate jars. Also we have 1 or 2 old bread outlets so they are halfway there already. Thanks for the post!
