- 500g pork of any boneless cut (fatty portions also recommended), cubed. Size of cut can vary from 0.5 cm to 2 cm cubes. shopping list
- 150g pork liver shopping list
- 1 medium potato shopping list
- 1 medium carrot (optional) shopping list
- 1/2 medium bell pepper shopping list
- *the size of cut of the liver, potato, carrot and pepper should be roughly equal to the size of the pork. shopping list
- 1 300g can tomato sauce shopping list
- 1/2 medium red onion shopping list
- 1 big clove of garlic shopping list
- 2 tbsp cooking oil shopping list
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (shoyu or light soy sauce) shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- water shopping list
How to make it
- Season pork and liver with salt and pepper
- heat oil in sauce pan
- add garlic, then onion then saute until soft
- add pork and liver then saute until seared at the edges
- add enough water to barely cover the meat and simmer
- when tender, continue to simmer until the liquid is halved then add the potato (and carrots)
- when potatoes are nearly done, add tomato sauce and bell pepper
- add soy sauce
- continue to simmer until potatoes are done
- add salt and pepper to taste.
- serve with steamed rice or bread
