Marinated Tofu
From prieel 14 years agoIngredients
- 1 block of tofu, drained and squeezed so that most of the water is gone shopping list
- 4-5 tbs soy sauce shopping list
- 2 tbs rock candy sirup (can be substituded by the same amount of honey or maple sirup) shopping list
- 2 cloves of garlic shopping list
- 3 tbs wok oil shopping list
- black pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Look for something that can hold your tofu and marinade (I used a lunch box)
- In this, combine soy sauce, sirup and wok oil and stir till mostly mixed
- Crush and peel garlic cloves, add to the mixture
- Dash some pepper on top, and mix again
- Cut tofu in half lenghtwise, and lay in marinade
- Turn every 2 - 3 hours so that each side is evenly marinated
- I usually prepare the marinade in the morning before class and bake the tofu in the evening, so I would say 10 hours of marinating at least
- After 10 hours: get the tofu out of the box and pat dry gently
- cut in smaller bits, and sprinkle with flour
- Melt some butter in a pan, bake tofu until golden
- Enjoy!
- You can always use the garlic from the marinade in spaghetti sauce or other dishes, so don't throw them out just yet :)
