Southwest turkey chili

- 1 lb ground turkey shopping list
- 1 cup diced onion shopping list
- 1/2 cup diced celery shopping list
- 1/2 cup diced red bell pepper shopping list
- 1 32 oz can of whole peeled tomatoes shopping list
- 1-15 oz can chicken stock shopping list
- 3 TBS base ancho sauce ( see recipe) shopping list
- 1-15 oz can of pinto beans or kidney ( drained) shopping list
- 1 TBS floridian gourmet southwest low-sodium spice blend shopping list
- 1 chipotle chopped shopping list
- 1 tsp 3 mile sauce & salsa ( habanero carrot sauce) shopping list
- 2 TBS olive oil shopping list
How to make it
- In a stock pot add the oil and on a medium heat bring oil to temp( about 2 minutes) add the onion, bell pepper and celery. Saute for 5 minutes. Add the turkey meat and break apart with a wooden spoon and continue to cook for 5-7 minutes until it turns opaque. Add the southwest spice, ancho base sauce and stir for 1 minute, add the chipotle, habanero carrot sauce and stir for 30 seconds. Add the can of chicken stock, tomatoes and bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes. Add the beans and simmer another 15 minutes. If you like more of a broth with your chili simply reduce the cooking time.
