How to make it

  • Mix all the dry ingredients together and sift 7 times(7 is my number of choice, the more the better, lighter texture).
  • Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy,
  • Add eggs 1 at a time beating well inbetween each addition.
  • Add dry ingredients alternately with the sour milk of choice.
  • Add Vanilla and hot water.
  • This will be an extremely thin batter.. It’s OKAY!! This is why it is moist..
  • BAKE 35-45 mins. Until pick comes out clean.
  • This Cake seems like it takes forever to assemble.. but it is worth it. Try it you’ll see.
  • This is the ONLY Chocolate cake I’ll ever make..Store bought mix.. NAH.. Add red food color to make red velvet and cut Chocolate powder in !/2 adding as much red as you want. I use red paste color from craft/cake store.. Powder color os ok to. Am not a fan of liquids.. never have been. Paste colors are more brilliant.
