apple cranberry pie with crunch streussel topping

- one 9" unbaked bottom pastry crust shopping list
- 6--7 small to med.peeled, siced granny smith apples shopping list
- one cup dried cranberries shopping list
- one cup sugar shopping list
- one third cup unsifted all purpose flour shopping list
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice shopping list
- one teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg shopping list
- Streussel topping shopping list
- 2/3 cup unsifted flour shopping list
- 2/3 cup old fashioned, not quick, oatmeal shopping list
- 2/3 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 6 Tbsp cold butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts shopping list
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon shopping list
How to make it
- Toss sliced apples and cranberries with sugar, flour, spices, and lemon juice until apples are well coated. Pour into pastry lined pie plate.
- Process streussel ingredients with food processor or clean hands until mixture is uniformly crumbly.
- Spoon streussel mixture over the apple mixture in the pie plate evenly.
- Bake at 375 degrees for about an hour and fifteen minutes, reducing the temperature to 350 degrees during the last 15 minutes if the topping seems to be browning before the pie is bubbling in earnest.
- This pie will bubble over and mess up your oven unless you place a foil covered baking sheet on the rack beneath the baking pie.
