How to make it

  • Cut onions and Jalapeno in small pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add mustard seeds, dried split peas and fry for 30 seconds.
  • Add onions and jalapeno and fry for about 2 minutes.
  • Pour water to this mixture and let it boil.
  • Add salt and mix.
  • Now add cream of wheat slowly while mixing gently at the same time. It is important to mix as you pour or lumps will form.
  • Once all the water is absorbed, add lemon juice and cilantro.
  • Mix gently and serve.

    This would certainly wake me up! But I'm too lazy to cook that much at breakfast. Could be lunch, though.
