Barbecued Pork Spareribs

- Ingredients: shopping list
- 4 pounds pork spareribs, cut into serving size pieces shopping list
- 1 medium onion, quartered shopping list
- 2 tsp. salt shopping list
- ¼ tsp. pepper shopping list
- Sauce: shopping list
- ½ cup cider vinegar shopping list
- ½ cup packed brown sugar shopping list
- ½ cup ketchup shopping list
- ¼ cup chili sauce shopping list
- ¼ cup worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 2 Tbs. chopped onion shopping list
- 1 Tbs. lemon juice shopping list
- ½ tsp. ground mustard shopping list
- 1 garlic clove, minced shopping list
- Dash cayenne pepper shopping list
How to make it
- In a large kettle or Dutch oven, place ribs and onion; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add enough water to cover ribs; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 ½ hours until tender; drain.
- In a small saucepan, combine all sauce ingredients. Simmer, un-covered, for 1 hour or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.
- Arrange ribs on a rack in a broiler pan. Brush with sauce. Broil 5 inches from the heat for 5 minutes on each side, brushing frequently with sauce. Yield: 4 servings.
