How to make it

  • Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl and set aside.
  • Beat eggs and sugar until light and frothy.
  • Add oil to this mix and beat for 30 seconds.
  • Mix cocoa powder and vanilla essence with hot water in a separate bowl.
  • Add flour mix to the egg mix by folding in thoroughly.
  • Pour in cocoa mix and mix gently.
  • Pour into 2 greased large round baking tins.
  • Bake at 180 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • Apply icing when cool.
