Clams In Miso Soup

- 500 grams Fresh clams shopping list
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Japanese miso Paste shopping list
- 1-2 Packets of dashi (Japanese soup stock called `Hon dashi`) shopping list
- 2-3 Tbsp chopped onion Leaves shopping list
- 6 Cups water shopping list
- salt shopping list
- pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Soak the clams in water for several hours, changing the water every two hours or so, to expel the sand inside the shells. Drain and wash until the liquid is clear and free from traces of sand.
- Pour about 6 cups of water in a pot.
- Add 1 Packet of Dashi, you may add 2 for a more stronger taste.
- Bring to a gentle boil.
- Add the clams and cook just about the shells open.
- Turn off the heat.
- Season with salt.
- Pour about 1/2 cup of broth from the boiled clams in a cup,add the miso paste and mix until completely dissolved.
- Pour back into the pot of clams.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- When serving,sprinkle chopped onion leaves on top.
