How to make it

  • Wash whole crabapples
  • Sprinkle with cream of tartar
  • Pour boiling water over whole apples
  • Let soak for 24 hours, the apples will split open
  • Drain liquid through cheesecloth or very fine strainer
  • Bring to a boil and add sugar
  • Boil for 20 minutes
  • Use within a month or seal in jars or freeze in heavy duty freezer bags
