Applesauce Fruit Cake

Found this recipe in my moms collection.
Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening shopping list
- 2 cups applesauce (unsweetened) shopping list
- 3 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
- 2 cups raisins shopping list
- 1/2 cup flour shopping list
- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 2 tablespoon cocoa shopping list
- 2 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1 teaspoon allspice shopping list
- 1 cups nuts shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 325F.
- Cream sugar and shortening together. Add applesauce.
- Add a small amount of water to cocoa and add to mixture.
- Sift the 3 1/2 cups flour and other dry ingredients together and add to mixture.
- Sprinkle 1/2 cup of flour over the raisins and nuts and add to mixture. Add the vanilla.
- Bake in oven for 45 mins or until done.
