Peach Opal Basil Lemonade

- 2 cups fruity white wine, such as Riesling shopping list
- 2 cups water shopping list
- 1 cup loosely packed fresh opal basil leaves shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups peeled and chopped ripe peaches shopping list
- 2/3 cup fragrant honey, such as orange blossom shopping list
- 3/4 cup fresh lemon juice shopping list
- Fresh opal basil sprigs and ripe peach slices for garnishing shopping list
How to make it
- Combine wine, water, basil, chopped peaches, and honey in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes or until the peaches are very soft.
- Remove from the heat and let the mixture cool. Strain through a very fine-mesh strainer, pressing down on the solids.
- Stir in lemon juice, adjusting the sweetness level with more honey if you want, and chill. To serve garnish with basil leaves and peach slices.
