Very Nutty Granola

- 3 cups old fashioned oats (NOT instant) shopping list
- 3/4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts shopping list
- 3/4 cup coarsely chopped almonds shopping list
- 3/4 cup coarsley chopped pecans shopping list
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds shopping list
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup shopping list
- 2 - 3 Tbs raw honey shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 tsp sea salt or kosher salt shopping list
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup dried blueberries (or cherries, cranberries, raisins.... or a comination of any or all) shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
- In a large bowl, combine oats, nuts, seeds, cinnamon, salt and berries.
- Combine syrup, honey and vanilla. Pour over oats and nuts, and combine well.
- Spread mixture out on a cookie sheet that has either been sprayed generously with "Pam" or covered with parchment paper or a silpat.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool for at least 5 minutes.
- Gently break apart and store in an airtight container.
- Serving size is about 1/2 cup.

I made this this morning and it's fantastic! Not overly sweet like so many and the dried berries give it a great different taste. I used pine nuts instead of sunflower seeds, because that's what I had. I also used sliced almonds instead of chopped...more
