How to make it

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, saute onions, mushrooms and garlic in olive oil until veggies are tender and slightly caramelized.
  • Stir tomatoes into pan with sugar and seasonings. Reduce heat to low, cover pan and simmer 1 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until sauce is of desired consistency.
  • Serve or preserve, as you wish.
