How to make it

  • Measure broth, any leftover basting liquid, plus enough water, if needed, to make 2 quarts, into the turkey roasting pan on top of stove over two burners. Add in the chopped giblets.
  • Turn burners to medium low and bring broth to a simmer, stirring and loosening any bits left from the roasting.
  • Meanwhile, shake water and flour together in a covered jar. It is important to PUT WATER IN FIRST, FLOUR ON TOP, FOR A SMOOTH MIXTURE. Stir flour and water slowly into hot broth.
  • Bring to boil and boil 1 minute. Adjust seasoning and serve.
