Blackberry Buttercream Frosting

Another Southern Living Recipe - just love their cakes and at times the frosting from the south are just simply too rich and icky sweet.
Ingredients
- Yield: Makes about 2 1/2 cups shopping list

- 1/2 cup butter, softened shopping list
- 1/2 cup fresh blackberries shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 (16-oz.) package plus 1 cup powdered sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Preparation
- 1. Beat first 5 ingredients at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy.
- 2. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating at low speed until blended and smooth after each addition.
- Note: Be sure to wash and thoroughly dry blackberries before adding to frosting.
