From louierae 14 years agoIngredients
- 1 3/4 Cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/4 Cup sugar shopping list
- 2 1/2 Teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 3/4 Teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 Well-beaten egg shopping list
- 3/4 Cup milk shopping list
- 1/3 Cup salad oil (Or melted shortening) shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven at 400 degrees.
- Sift Dry ingredients into bowl.
- Add Wet ingredients to bowl.
- Stir quickly until dry ingredients are moist.
- Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
- ---For Flavors, divide the batter into different bowls:---
- Spice: Use a pinch or two of nutmeg, allspice, and tablespoon or so of cinnamon. Add some sugar and about 1/4 teaspoon vanilla essence. Taste the batter and add spices or such until it tastes right to you. These typically taste like spice cake in the end.
- Chocolate: Spoon of baking cocoa, half cup of chocolate chips, bit of vanilla essence (1/4 teaspoon), A few tablespoons of sugar. (2, maybe 4). Mix WELL. Taste the batter, as with the previous. (I also like to sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top before they go in to cook.)
