Basic Buttercream Frosting

- 1 cup butter, softened shopping list
- 1 cup shortening shopping list
- 2 1/2 - 3 pounds confectioner's sugar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 3/4 cups milk shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (omit if using salted butter) shopping list
How to make it
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and shortening. Beat in sugar, vanilla, salt, and milk gradually, until you achieve the right consistency. Spread over completely cooled cake.
