Happy Days Cake with strawberries

At first this sounds like your average yellow cake recipe, but the flavor is different...
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 c. flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 c. sugar shopping list
- 1/2 c. butter, room temp. shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 3 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1 c. milk shopping list
- 2 quarts strawberries, washed and stemmed shopping list
- reserve a few for garnish if desired shopping list
- sugar to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 375
- whisk all the dry ingredients together
- Gradually add the milk, mix well
- add butter, eggs, and vanilla once again mix well
- Pour into a well greased 13x9" pan
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, the top of the cake should be a rich golden brown.
- mash your strawberries in a large glass bowl, they should be chunky
- add sugar to taste
- serve over squares of the cooled cake
- garnish with whipped cream and whole berries
