Chinese Pork and Turnips

- 1/2 pound lean pork shopping list
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon fried red onion shopping list
- Dash of pepper shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup sweet potato starch shopping list
- 2 cups white turnip (Paiken Reddish) shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 tablespoon diced green pepper shopping list
- 4 to 6 cups vegetable oil shopping list
How to make it
- Dice pork into bite-size pieces. Add soy sauce, fried red onion, and pepper. Dredge in sweet potato starch.
- Fry pork in vegetable oil until golden and crispy. Remove to a bowl.
- Cut turnip into strips. Blend with salt and chopped green pepper. Put in bowl on top of pork. Add 1/2 cup water. Cover and steam 40 minutes. Drain juices out. Quickly invert bowl onto small serving platter and pour juice over. Serve with rice.
