Lemon French Toast with Strawberry Sauce

My family just loves this french toast recipe it's a little different which makes it special but not so different that it is unrecognizable
Ingredients
- 12 slices French bread shopping list
- jar of lemon spread shopping list
- 6 beaten eggs shopping list
- 1/2 cup of milk shopping list
- strawberry sauce shopping list
- 1 pound pkg frozen strawberries in syrup thawes shopping list
- 2 tbsp cold water shopping list
- 2 tsp cornstarch shopping list
How to make it
- spread 6 slices of bread with lemon spread
- cover with remaining bread
- in shallow bowl mix eggs and milk
- dip each sandwich in egg mixture let it soak a bit
- fry in melted butter until golden
- Meanwhile
- heat strawberries and syrup in small saucepan
- mix cold water and cornstarch in a cup
- add cornstarch mixture to hot strawberries stirring constantly until thickend
- to serve
- slice sandwiches in half diagonally
- spoon over sauce
