Praline Baked French Toast

- Praline Baked French toast shopping list
- • 1 loaf French bread shopping list
- • 8 large eggs shopping list
- • 2 cups half-and-half shopping list
- • 3/4cup milk shopping list
- • ¼ cup rum (optional) shopping list
- • ½ cup granulated sugar shopping list
- • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg shopping list
- • Dash salt shopping list
- • Praline Topping, recipe follows shopping list

- • 2 sticks butter shopping list
- • 1 cup packed light brown sugar shopping list
- • 1 cup chopped pecans shopping list
- • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup or maple syrup shopping list
- • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
How to make it
- Spray 13 x 9 pan with Pam
- Slice French bread into 1-inch slices. Arrange 1 layer of slices flat in pan, overlapping the slices. Add 2nd layer of bread slices. If slices don't all fit, cut into pieces and use to fill gaps.
- In a large bowl, combine the eggs, half-and-half, milk, sugar, rum, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and beat with a rotary beater or whisk until blended. Pour mixture over the bread slices, making sure all are covered evenly with the milk-egg mixture. Spoon some of the mixture in between the slices. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
- The next day, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Spread Praline Topping evenly over the bread and bake for 40 minutes, until puffed and lightly golden.
- Praline Topping:
- Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and blend well. Add to french toast just before baking.
