How to make it

  • Put bulgur in glass bowl
  • Zest half a lemon over it
  • Sprinkle with S & P
  • If using hearty fresh herbs, add now (rosemary, lemon thyme, thyme, or a combo - all work great)
  • Pour boiling water over it
  • Cover tightly with plastic wrap
  • Let stand 20 to 30 minutes (if still too wet, give it a boost in the microwave on high for about 1 min.)
  • Fluff with fork
  • Mix in chives, almonds, and fresh tender herbs (like basil or Italian parsley)
  • Squirt some lemon juice in to taste
