How to make it

  • Sift together all dry ingredients.
  • Then, in a heavy saucepan, mix together all ingredients for chocolate frosting except butter.
  • Cook & stir continuously until thick but of pourable consistency.
  • Stir in butter.
  • Pour on completely cooled Chocolate Carrot Cake.

    for the record, I did use this on a chocolate carrot cake. Just not the one by the same author.
    It would do well to say "for a bundt cake" although it would *still* taste like crap.

    This is a horrible recipe. To begin with, it makes 3-4 times the amount needed for a 2-layer 8-9 inch cake, a huge waste.
    I cooked it for over half an hour - i lost track of the exact time, it was quite long, and it finally thickened to about the consistency of thick cake batter, but it *still* tasted like flour. Then after pouring the frosting onto the bottom layer of cake, the top layer kept sliding off. To top that off, I had to add quite a bit of stevia after it was cooked for it to even taste sweet.
    As is, it tastes like unsweetened chocolate flour.
    I wish people wouldn't rate what they haven't actually tried.
