Soft Custard

- 2-cups whole milk shopping list
- 2-tablespoons butter shopping list
- 6-egg yolks shopping list
- 1/2-cup sugar shopping list
- 1-teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 1-1/2 tablespoons good Irish whiskey or rum (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, heat the milk and butter until the butter is melted.
- Whisk together the egg yolks and sugar in a large bowl.
- Gradually whisk in some of the hot milk into the yolk mixture, the add all to the saucepan.
- Stir gently over medium heat for about 10-minutes or until custard coats the back of a spoon (do NOT boil).
- Transfer to a bowl and stir in the vanilla and whiskey.
- Refigerate for about 3-hours before serving.
