Tvp Barbecue Chili

- 1 1/2 cup coarse textured vegetable protein crumbles shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup hot liquid: water, vegetable broth etc ( meat broth for non vegetarians ) or as needed shopping list
- 1 jar barbecue sauce as desired, we like sweet spicey kind shopping list
- canned Kernal corn as desired shopping list
- canned black beans as desired shopping list
- garlic minced as desired shopping list
- Chopped avocado or guacomole as desired shopping list
- cilantro as desired shopping list
- salt, and pepper as needed shopping list
- Optional: sour cream as a topping shopping list
- corn or taco chips shopping list
How to make it
- Pour hot to boiling liquid over the tvp in a bowl.
- Tvp will absorb and swell
- Drain off any excess liquid or add more if needed so theTVP is soft
- Stir in barbecue sauce as desired to taste- you won't use all of it
- Then add the corn, beans, avocado as desired.
- I usually add 1/2 cup of each.
- Stir in the gucamole or mashed avocado
- Season as desired
- Now this can be heat d in a pot on stovetop or in the micro to blend flavors- great reheated the next day!
- Mix well again after heating
- Serve with sour cream, cilantro and chips if desired
