How to make it

  • Prepare marinade by mixing all ingredients in shallow glass dish or resealable plastic food storage bag. Add chicken thighs and drumsticks to marinade; turn to coat. Cover dish or seal bag, refrigerate, turning chicken occasionally, at least 30 minutes but no longer than 24 hours.
  • Heat coals or gas grill for direct heat. Remove chicken from marinade; reserve marinade. Cover and grill chicken, skin sides down, 5 to 6 inches from medium heat 8 to 10 minutes. Turn chicken; brush with marinade. Cover and grill 25 to 35 minutes longer, turning occasionally and brushing with marinade, until juice of chicken is no longer pink when centers of thickest pieces are cut. Discard remaining marinade.
