Dutch Kale And Potatoes With Farmers Sausage Recipe
This is another Dutch comfort food. It is a great way to get that healthy kale. The bacon bits add a nice flavour and the sausage compliments it all.

Ingredients
  • 1 kilogram of mashing potatoes
  • 500 grams finely chopped, cooked kale
  • 3 slices of bacon, cut up into small pieces and fryed
  • 1 Farmer's Sausage or chorizo or any smoked sausage.

Directions
  1. Peel and boil the potatoes at least 10 minutes. Don't overboil
  2. Chop the kale very finely and boil 10-15 minutes.
  3. Bring about an inch or two of water to boil in a frying pan and add the Farmers's Sausage. Remove when hot.
  4. Fry the bacon in the pan and remove from pan.
  5. Slice the sausage into four servings lengthwise and fry.
  6. Fry the chopped onions and make a gravy.
  7. Mash the potatoes well. You can use a food processor.
  8. Add the cooked Kale and bacon bits and mix well.
  9. Serve the potato/kale mix in the center of the plate scooping out a bit to make a well. Fill with gravy
  10. Serve with the Farmer's sausage.
