Chocolate Mousse

My kitchen was so hot that traditional mousse kept failing. I finally came up with this solution and it works. It also is an egg less mousse for those who cant have eggs or that just don't like dealing with egg whites. Read more Be sure to chill the bowl and beaters or whisk. See less
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin shopping list
- 1 tablespoon cold water shopping list
- 2 tablespoons boiling water shopping list
- ½ cup sugar shopping list
- ¼ cocoa shopping list
- 1 cup whipping cream shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- chocolate curls (optional) shopping list
- brandied strawberries (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- In a small bowl sprinkle gelatin over the cold water and let stand 1 minute
- In a separate bowl combine the sugar, cocoa, whipping cream & vanilla; stir to blend
- Blend on medium speed of mixer, scraping the bottom of the bowl a few times until the mixture is stiff.
- Add the boiling water to the gelatin stirring until dissolved.
- Add the gelatin mixture and beat until well blended.
- Place in fridge and chill 1 hour or longer
