How to make it

  • In a pot of salted, boiling water, cook pasta 5 minutes. Add broccoli and cook 1-2 minutes longer, until al dente.
  • Reserve 1/3 cup of pasta water, and drain.
  • In the same pot, heat 1/2 the reserved water.
  • Add garlic, anchovy paste and pepper flakes. Cook, stirring, until fragrant.
  • Add broccoli and pasta to the pot along with remaining pasta water, cook until heated through.
  • Add Parmesan, toss well and serve.
