Snappy Molasses Crinkles

- 2 1/4 cups flour shopping list
- 1 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1 tsp ground ginger shopping list
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves shopping list
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar shopping list
- 3/4 cup shortening shopping list
- 1/4 cup molasses shopping list
- 1 large egg shopping list
- Granulated sugar shopping list
How to make it
- On a sheet of waxed paper, combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and 1/8 tsp salt.
- Set aside
- In a large bowl, using a wooden spoon, beat the brown sugar with the shortening, molasses, and egg until well blended.
- Stir in the flour mixture
- Cover and refrigerate for one hour
- Preheat the oven to 375 F
- Shape the dough into balls about 1 inch in diameter
- Roll in the granulated sugar
- Place 3 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the tops have cracked.
