How to make it

  • To make the marinade, combine all the ingredients in a blender and puree.
  • In a large bowl, combine beef, turkey, salt, 1/2 cup marinade and diced pineapple.
  • Mix gently (your hands are the best tool for this) and form into 6 patties, avoiding compacting the meat as much as possible. Place on a platter, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 hour.
  • Preheat grill to medium-high and brush grate with oil.
  • Place the patties on the rack and brush with marinade.
  • Cover and cook 6 minutes, then turn and brush other side with marinade.
  • Re-cover and cook 5-6 minutes longer, until cooked through.
  • Serve on your choice of crusty bread or rolls.
