How to make it

  • Mix together the sugar, shortening, eggs, juice, and the zest of one orange and the sour cream.
  • Sift together the baking soda, flour, baking powder, and the salt.
  • Add to the egg mixture.
  • Drop by tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake at 350 F for 7 to 8 minutes.
  • To make the frosting: Mix together the remaining zest and juice, powdered sugar, and the butter.
  • Frost the cookies when cool.
