Delightful Fresh-squeezed Lemonade

If you want the easiest, yet not the quickest, fresh-squeezed lemonade recipe, this is it! Delicious! It's just like the lemonade you get a local fairs and festivals! My recipe will make a full 2 quart pitcher-full, plus two extra glasses.
Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 6 cups water shopping list
- 2 cups fresh lemon juice shopping list
- lemon slices and mint sprigs for garnish shopping list
How to make it
- In a medium saucepan, heat sugar and 2 cups of water to a boil.
- Stir to dissolve sugar.
- Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Let cool.
- Refrigerate syrup until chilled.
- Squeeze approximately 12 lemons to get 2 cups of juice...I bought a 3 lb, bag of lemons at Sam's Club and it was the perfect amount.
- In a pitcher, mix the remaining water, lemon juice, and chilled syrup.
- Serve in tall glasses over ice.
- Garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves, if desired.
