Corn Creole

- 1 large onion, chopped shopping list
- 1 small green pepper, chopped shopping list
- 3 tablespoons bacon drippings or oil shopping list
- 1 pound ground beef shopping list
- 1 (20 oz) can cream style corn shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- milk (1/3) cup shopping list
- 1/2 cup cornmeal shopping list
- 2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- pepper to taste shopping list
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs shopping list
- 2 tablespoons butter shopping list
How to make it
- Saute the onion and pepper in drippings until wilted. Add the meat and brown well. Add the corn and cook for one minute. Beat th egg and milk; add to meat mixture with cornmeal and seasoning. Pour into 1 quart baking dish. Top with bread crumbs and dot with butter. Bake at 350* for 45 minutes.
