Grandma's Oatmeal Cookies

- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups hortening shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 4 tsp water shopping list
- 4 cups flour shopping list
- 2 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 4 cups quick-cooking oats shopping list
- 2 cups chopped raisins shopping list
- 1 cup chopped walnuts shopping list
- Additional granulated sugar or colored sugar shopping list
How to make it
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the sugar and shortening until light and fluffy
- Add the eggs, one at a time
- Beat well after each addition
- Beat in the water
- Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt
- Mix well
- Stirin the oats, raisins, and walnuts
- On a surface sprinkled with additional sugar or colored sugar, roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness
- Cut out with desired cookie cutters
- Place 2 inch apart onto greased baking sheets
- Bake at 350 F for 12-15 minutes or until set
- Remove to wire racks to cool
