How to make it

  • In a saucepan, cook and stir the caramels, butter, and milk over low heat until the caramels are melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • Remove from the heat
  • Stir in the sugar
  • Stir the eggs and vanilla into the caramel mixture
  • Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt
  • Stir into the caramel mixture until blended
  • Fold in the cashews
  • Transfer to a greased 9-inch square baking pan
  • Bake at 350 F for 24-28 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean
  • Cool on a wire rack
  • Cut into bars
