Caramel Tomatoes

- 8 large tomatoes, peeled and cored shopping list
- 1 c light brown sugar shopping list
- 1 T salt shopping list
- 1 t pepper shopping list
- 4 T unsalted butter, cut in small slices shopping list
How to make it
- arrange tomatoes in a large oven-proof skillet, cored side up.
- sprinkle with sugar, salt and pepper.
- dot with butter.
- Bake until tomatoes are tender and lightly browned, about 1 hour, basting with juices about every 15 min.
- Transfer skillet to stove-top. Simmer over low heat basting every 5 min until sauce is thick and syrupy. about 25 min.
- 400 degrees
