Celebration Chocolate Cake

Old recipe. It makes a wonderful, moist, large 10 " cake. Made in a large Bundt pan, it is divinely chocolate, moist, and very versatile. Plain or with toppings of dribbled white chocolate, dark chocolate glaze, cherries, whipped cream, toasted pecans, orange rind, almonds or powdered sugar. Ingredients
- 1 package Duncan Hines butter cake mix (yellow) shopping list
- 1 package (5.9 ounce) chocolate instant pudding mix shopping list
- 1/2 cup white granulated sugar shopping list
- 3/4 cup Crisco oil shopping list
- 2/3 cup water shopping list
- 1 8-ounce container sour cream or 1 cup shopping list
- 4 large eggs shopping list
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips shopping list
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract shopping list
How to make it
- Place first 5 ingredients in a large mxing bowl
- With electric mixer, beat on medium speed until creamy ( abt 2 min)
- Add sour cream, mix on low until just blended
- Add 1 egg at a time, mixing on low, until just blended
- Stir in chocolate chips, vanilla, almond extract
- Pour into a greased and floured LARGE 10" tube or LARGE Bundt pan
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean
- Cool in pan on wire rack for about 10 minutes
- Remove from pan, cool completely on a wire rack
- Top with your favorite topping
