How to make it

  • Mix first 4 ingredients till smooth. Add garlic if you use it. Slowly add water. Add dry ingredients and stir til well combined. You should have a very stiff dough similar to short bread. If it is to moist add more oats or flour. Press into greased large cookie sheet. Jelly roll pan is perfect. Score with a knife. This will make breaking them apart later very easy. Bake in 350 degree oven 12 to 15 minutes. They should be brown but not real dark. Turn off oven and allow biscuits to get cold in the oven. This helps to dry out the biscuits. Your dogs are going to love you and it is really worth it to see how excited they get when you bring them out. Have fun.

You are right about dairy and dogs for the most part. I raise dogs and have been feeding them powdered milk for over 20 years with no ill effects. I asked my vet and he said that it has something to do with butter fat in milk which is not present in powdered milk. Most commercial dog foods use it calling it Casanite or something similar. Glad you spoke up tho so I could put peoples concerns to rest. The powdered milk has much needed calcium for their teeth and bones. thanks again.

I work at a pet store and I hate to say it but, dairy is horrible for dogs :( it messes with their GI tract. I'm not sure if the dry milk doesn't effect them that bad and if it doesn't please let me know.
