Ingredients

How to make it

  • Put the oil in a glass bowl (to use as the top of a double boiler) or bain-marie. Add the beeswax. Place over a pan of hot water and heat gently, stirring occasionally, until the wax melts. Take off the heat and allow to cool.
  • Just as a “skin” begins to appear on the surface of the oils, add the peppermint and rosemary oils using a dropper. Mix well. Pour the mixture into a sterilized dark glass jar. Allow to cool before putting on the lid.
  • USE: Apply twice daily to affected areas, remembering to wash hands after use.
  • This oil is hot, so keep away from eyes and other sensitive areas.
  • Keeps for up to 6 months
  • For Hot chilli and mustard oil
  • In a bain-marie or glass bowl (to form the top of a double boiler) place the sunflower oil, chopped chillis, ginger, black pepper, and mustard powder. Stir to mix. Place the bowl covered on a pan of hot water, and heat the mixture gently for 1 hour.
  • Strain through a sieve lined with muslin. Filter the oil into sterilised dark glass bottles or add to Chilli and peppermint salve.
