The Ultimate Onion With Creamy Chili Sauce

- 3 cups cornstarch shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt shopping list
- 2 teaspoons paprika shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper shopping list
- 24 ounces beer shopping list
- 6 colossal onions shopping list
- seasoned flour as needed shopping list
- 1 quart creamy chili sauce (below) shopping list

- 1 pint mayonnaise shopping list
- 1 pint dairy sour cream shopping list
- 1/2 cup chili sauce shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Mix cornstarch, flour and seasoning until well blended then add beer and mix well.
- Cut 3/4" off onion then peel onion and cut into 16 vertical wedges but do not cut through bottom.
- Remove 1” of petals from center of onion.
- Dip cut onion in seasoned flour and remove excess by shaking then dip in batter.
- Shake to remove excess batter from onions.
- Separate petals to coat thoroughly with batter.
- Mix batter after standing to blend ingredients.
- Gently place onions in fryer basket and deep fry at 400 degrees for 1-1/2 minutes.
- Turn over and fry 1-1/2 minutes longer.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Place onion upright in shallow bowl and remove center core with circular cutter or apple corer. Serve hot with sauce.
- To make sauce combine all ingredients and mix well.
