Garlic Buttered Steaks

- 4 thick rib eye steaks shopping list
- 4 large cloves of garlic, peeled shopping list
- 3 tablespoons butter, salted & slightly softened shopping list
- salt shopping list
- pepper shopping list
- extra virgin olive oil shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oil in saute pan over medium high heat
- Smash one clove of garlic and add to heat, removing when it begins to brown.
- As oil is heating, salt & pepper steaks to taste.
- Cook 6 to 7 minutes the first side, about 4 minutes on the second side for medium rare. Sides are done when the golden brown starts to turn slightly darker.
- As the steaks are cooking begin with the garlic cloves. Start mincing them while alternating between using the side of the knife to smash them into the cutting board. As it is turned into a paste, continue only using the side of the knife (no longer cutting) and begin adding the softened butter. You want to completely integrate the garlic paste into the butter.
- Place a generous dollop on each steak about a minute after they've been placed on the plates to rest.
