How to make it

  • Sift together flour, salt, soda, and cocoa. Cream butter thoroughly. Add sugar gradually and cream until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and beat well. Blend sifted dry ingredients and milk alternately into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts. Drop by tablespoonfuls on greased baking sheet. Bake in moderate oven (350F) for 10-15 minutes. Cool on rack. Frost with powdered sugar frosting and sprinkle with coconut or chopped nuts.
